There are two types of glass used in shower enclosures manufacture of Australia, temperate (or tempered) safety glass and laminated safety glass.

But what is the best? Well, it depends on the type of shower enclosure.

Safety glass is used for frameless shower screens and laminated safety glass used for shower screens framed.

Tempered safety glass -

Used in areas where the glass panel is not fully compatible with a framework like frameless shower screens, pool fencing and balustrade. Tempered glass has a very high vertical force as used in these situations, rather than laminated glass. Tempered glass has a unique pattern to break when broken, produces 100 small relatively harmless pieces, reducing the risk of injury from sharp glass fragments. Tempered glass also has a color other than green glass shade.

Laminated safety glass -

This type of glass should be fully supported by a frame. Glass is a stronger than tempered glass, but has the same vertical. Laminated glass is used in framed shower screens, windows, doors, skylights, windshields of cars and any other situation where you need safety glass in the glass panel is framed.
